So I have been missing the craic in the kids yoga classes that I normally run afterschool. The energy and fun in a kids yoga class is very different to the adult yoga classes. Calm and quiet replaced with action, stories and pockets of quiet. Unlike a general Yoga class where adults come in and move quietly often with eyes closed and in silence, Interaction, Imagination, Improvisation and Input from the kids are all part and parcel of the kids yoga class. Together we travel on adventures and move our bodies to bring the characters to life. The fun begins again on November 5th at 4:30 pm when the Renmore Kids Yoga / Ióga do pháistí winter time 6 week term begins on Zoom. Our new term is suited to children form age 7 up to 12 years. It will be a little different to the usual set up as one can't beat 'in-person' classes. However it will offer families the chance to attend together if they like and despite a pandemic we travel to far-flung places earthly and beyond! Yoga is beneficial for kids as it develops positive body awareness, strength the ability to collaborate and confidence. It explores ways to self-regulate through breathing techniques and tuning into feelings. It helps children know their own boundaries and respect that of others. The class is gentle and fun.
