About Renmore Yoga
Renmore Yoga - Fidelma Sheridan
Over the last 30 years through many roles, transitions and jobs I have had the practices of meditation and Yoga. I started as a teenager when I learned Trancendental Meditation and found it a real help in managing tiredness and stress while at university.
While working full-time in a demanding engineering job I attended a lunch-time Yoga class offered at work. I loved it as I went back to work with renewed energy and vigour.
I wanted to learn more about Yoga and enrolled in a teacher training programme for my own self development. I graduated in 2007 and began to teach straight away. I found teaching daunting but thoroughly enjoyed it and felt energised by it despite fitting it in around working full time and a toddler at home.
It continued as such for many years even through a move back home to Galway and changing engineering roles. I completed training in teaching Yoga to Children and attended retreats and other classes as time allowed.
Then a change in my employment situation offered me the opportunity to pursue more training and offer more classes.
I think Yoga is a fabulous resource for everyone which can be used everyday in little ways to enhance well-being and strength and that is the reason I teach and continue to practice.
I have completed post-graduate training in Yoga Anatomy with Leslie Kaminoff and Amy Matthews, Trauma Informed Yoga with Yoga Mandala, Yoga for Sports with Yoga Campus. Furthermore, I have completed mindfulness training (MBSR) and for the last 7 years attend weekly classes and retreats with a variety of wise teachers.
The more I learn the more I see there is to learn. I also see a shift over time in my personal practice from the earlier strong physical practice to a strong but quieter practice. I find that it is the small bits of yoga in the day that sustain my energy and help me ride the waves of change in life.
